At the outskirts of Stadlandet, inside a bay, you find the village of Ervik. The village is small, but contains a lot of both history and activities. Here you will find one of the best surfing trends in Norway. Next to the beautiful sandy beach you will find the distinctive church gorge and the memorial chapel over the accident with St. Svithun in the fall of 1943. The boat was attacked and lowered by allied hunting planes, and many experienced the risk of life to save the passengers aboard.
Today you will find everything from the largest line boat company in Norway to large, well-run guards. You can even find an Italian who cooks cheese and an old firehouse where you can have a meal served with taste of the heathlands on Stad, so that just short-lived food can give you.
There are beautiful hiking areas in Ervik, which are to be judged by Hovden. If you wish to tour the area, contact Stadt Naturguiding, who knows the area and can tell you about the rich history of the area.
